This Remembrance 2024 Proof Gold Quarter Sovereign beautifully captures the spirit of perpetual remembrance and reverence embodied by the Menin Gate Memorial in Ypres.

Every evening at 8:00 PM, the Last Post ceremony is held at the Menin Gate Memorial. This ceremony has taken place every day since 1928, except during the German occupation in World War II. A central part of the ceremony is the reading of the fourth stanza of Laurence Binyon’s poem “For the Fallen,” from which the coin’s inscription quotes: ‘AT THE GOING DOWN OF THE SUN.’

Expertly minted in the traditional 22-carat gold quarter sovereign specification to the highest proof quality, the coin’s reverse features the official coin portrait of King Charles III by Raphael Maklouf.
